Level 4 - please click here to read the description of this level to ensure it is suited to you
This is an extension and development from our 'learn how to use an overlocker course'. We would recommend that you do the 'learn how to use an overlocker course' first so that this workshop is relevant to your skills and knowledge.
Depending on your past level of experience, you may not completely finish the project during the workshop. However, you will have all the tips and skills required to complete it at home. The focus of this course is getting you confident on he overlocker, not completing a garment in a day.
Becca has been creating with a needle and thread for as long as she can remember and discovered the world of dressmaking in her teens. She quickly became hooked, spending all her free time glued to her machine and developing her skills. Since then she's taught many others to sew too and now teaches online workshops for the pattern company Sew Over It.
Becca enjoys spending time on the details; getting patterns to match, nailing the position of a pocket or producing perfect topstitching. She loves sharing her passion with others, helping them create clothing that they love and feel proud of.
Sewing has always been a huge part of Claire's life. As a child she was always making, crafting and fixing things. Her love of fabric and making drove her to study Textiles and Fashion Design at Leeds University. After graduating and gaining some invaluable experience in the fashion and textiles industry Claire realised her true passion was sharing her skills and knowledge of garment construction with others.
Claire has been teaching design as a qualified lecturer for well over a decade. She joined the g&g team shortly after the shop opened in 2013 as a workshop tutor. During her time with us she has taught countless workshops and has loved helping customers learn how to sew and create wearable garments that will become staples of their me-made wardrobe.
