Join us for a full-day sewing workshop where you’ll learn how to make your own pair of Lane Pants by Sydney Graham – the ultimate relaxed-fit trousers designed to suit your style.

The Lane Pants are high-waisted with a comfortably wide leg and endless customisation options. You’ll be guided step by step to create your own version – whether you’re dreaming of breezy linen trousers, cosy pyjama bottoms, or structured cargo pants. Along the way, you’ll build your sewing confidence while learning techniques like:
✔️ Sewing pockets (yes, even cargo pockets!)
✔️ Adding a drawstring waist
✔️ Achieving a polished finish

This 6.5 hour workshop is perfect for adventurous beginners through to confident sewists. You can choose what version of the Lane pants you make depending on your skill level.

Please note - for Level 2 learners, we would recommend choosing the simple or drawstring version. For more confident students, the cargo pockets can be chosen. Depending on skill level and pace of sewing there would be some elements that need to be completed at home if the cargo pockets version are sewn.

This garment is designed to have a very relaxed fit throughout the hips and crotch, while being snug around the waist.

0 - 34, which correlate to 24"-54" Waist and 34"-65" Hip

Please get in touch and we can advise on what you'll need to bring, depending on your pattern of choice and which version you would like to make. This will include fabric, matching thread, interfacing and any related notions such as elastic etc.

Fabric recommendations: Cotton twill, linen, lightweight denim, flannel

It is strongly advised to purchase your fabric before the workshop so that it can be pre washed, especially if you plan on using a linen based fabric.

Gemma Longley

Gemma was creative and crafty from a young age, leading her to join a sewing class at 14 where she honed her skills. She was then able to craft her prom dress.During university, Gemma delved into the fascinating crossover of Archaeology and fashion, focusing her dissertation on classical themes in regency dress. After graduating Gemma found a home at G&G, sharing her love for sewing with our wonderful customers.Beyond work, Gemma competes with her university's ballroom and Latin dancing team across the country!
